Paul Marshall is a former Early Years Educator, he worked in schools and nurseries delivering short & intensive but fun music classes with children aged 2-7.  This experience has been invaluable in the creation of bingbangbong, defining our strong support for pentatonics and in shaping our insistence on a high degree of tuning accuracy. Bingbangbong clients gain access to a unique online resource that is designed to spark creativity in those who work directly on music with their client group. We avoid dots and lines and instead we propose music games featuring numbers and colours, exploring tone, harmony and melody.

Our particular focus for Early Years is on the Pentatonic or ‘Dragon’  tuning standard that means no ‘wrong’ notes. It is in line with DfES Recommendations for KS1 & KS2. Early Years users become familiar with key musical concepts learned through experience and discovery that become advantageous when they access the Formal Schooling system at KS1.

Put simply, our instruments are tools that represent the potential for sound exploration, supporting your work in laying a solid musical foundation for later building. We have designed and built our items to last and last, we do not expect repeat business in our lifetimes. Our Pentatonic Focus
Pentatonic or 'Dragon' scales are 5-note octaves particularly suitable for Early Years introduction to music & creative play. 

Playing within this framework reinforces musical intervals, key for this age group, that are easy to pitch accurately and work in canon.

Bingbangbong makes 4 octaves of C Major Dragon Scales as standard. The span is 2 octaves either side of Middle C and includes the natural range of a child’s singing voice.
