EYFS in Daycare and childminding

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) brings together: Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage (2000), the Birth to Three Matters (2002) framework and the National Standards for Under 8s Daycare and Childminding (2003), building a coherent and flexible approach to care and learning. All providers are required to use the EYFS to ensure that whatever setting parents choose, they can be confident that their child will receive a quality experience that supports their development and learning.

Paul Marshall from bingbangbong is a former Early Years Music Specialist. Paul uses this experience and the wide ranging EY delivery and design skills as a fundamental basis of the Early Years provision within bingbangbong.

EYFS outdoor musical instruments

Our EYFS outdoor musical instruments are based largely on the Dragon or Pentatonic scale as recommended by the DFeS. This is a 5-note scale and there are no wrong notes!. This scale is a universal standard in music teaching and in folk musics around the world. Our dragon instruments are ideal for musical exploration and delivering positive experiences of harmony

But we do not stop there. Every client receives access to our bespoke range of Early Years and KS1 resources, games, activities and resources to assist practitioners in running successful musical sessions.

Paul Marshall is a former Early Years Educator, he worked in schools and nurseries delivering short & intensive but fun music classes with children aged 2-7.  This experience has been invaluable in the creation of bingbangbong, defining our strong support for pentatonics and in shaping our insistence on a high degree of tuning accuracy. It’s important!

Bingbangbong.com is the UK's original specialist designer and manufacturer of sensory items and outdoor musical instruments for schools. 

We are Outdoor Sound & Music Specialists and Instrument Design Consultants, we do not make playgrounds. Instead we offer the opportunity to help you create a permanent sound & music play area in your establishment.

Our instruments are designed primarily for wall mounting although we can provide frames and they are suitable for teaching or un/supervised play.

Our instruments are accessible by all ages and all abilities. The Pentatonic or 'dragon' tuning is a key building block for Early Years music and it is particularly recommended by DfES for  KS1 & KS2 use in primary schools. We use a C Major Pentatonic scale CDEGA and resolve the scale with a high C note

Many of our instruments are tubular-chime based. This provides a beautifully clear fundamental tone. Please listen to sample sounds of our instruments. We can make useful sounds from almost anything however not every material is suitable outdoor use, not every shape is safe and we are led by user safety as our #1 priority followed by client satisfaction.

Bingbangbong's founder Paul Marshall is a former Early Years Music Facilitator and experienced workshopper. All clients are invited to access our small but unique range of client game & activity primers designed by Paul to facilitate use in the classroom. No scary dots on lines more like colours of socks or telephone numbers.

Since appearing on BBC Dragons Den we have generated a lot of competitors. Their products look similar but are rarely of a similar quality and tuning consistency. This is why we provide sound samples of our instruments.
